The season finale event at NOLA Motorsports Park determined the championships for the Stuttgart Cup GT, the Stuttgart Cup Cayman and the Maranello Cup. Thirty nine drivers accumulated points over the seven race season at some of the most iconic tracks and events in the U.S. Thanks to the International GT marketing partners for their support and recognition of these champion drivers and teams. The championship award packages for each driver included a set of Pirelli P Zero race tires, a trip to beautiful Pacifico in Playas del Coco, Costa Rica and a custom designed BRM champion’s watch! The formal presentation of awards, recognition and celebration will be at the International GT reception in the Gallery of Legends at Sebring, the first race of the 2017 season. Maranello Cup Champion: Steven Hill

Steven Hill33-steven-h Steve Hill from Copper Canyon, TX is a long time avid racer who competed for the first year in International GT in his #33 2007 Cabeza Tequila Ferrari F430. Hill said of his championship, “International GT is one of the most enjoyable series I’ve experienced in 20 years of racing! I want to thank Tequila Cabeza, Norwood Auto Italia, crew chief Chris Coffey, logistics manager John Wozniewski, transport manager Kevin Holmes, hospitality manager Natasha Ilika, coaches Jason Hart and Mike Skeen, teammates Colin Cohen and Barry Fromberg and all my friends and supporters for helping to make this championship possible. I look forward to another year of great competition and fun in 2017!” Steve was a perennial podium finisher with a number of overall victories against the Porsche GT class. Congratulations to Steve and the entire Norwood Auto Italia team on being Maranello Cup Champions!

Stuttgart Cup Cayman Champion: Bill Riddell

Bill Riddell05-bill-rBill Riddell of Fernandina Beach, FL came back to claim the Stuttgart Cup Cayman Championship that he previously won in 2014. Known as the founder, engine and head cheerleader of International GT, Riddell had strong performances in all seven of the season’s events chasing down a number of GT3 Cup and Maranello Cup competitors. His RaceLink crew kept Riddell’s #05, 3.4 liter Cayman on track for a record number of races on the way to the Stuttgart Cup Cayman Championship. Congratulations to Bill and the RaceLink team!

Stuttgart GT Cup Champion: John Mauro

John Mauro23-john-mJohn Mauro of Liberty Township, OH joined International GT about half way through the 2016 season at his home track, Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Racing in his #23 2008 GT 3.6 Cup Porsche, it took until the final round at NOLA Motorsports Park for him to clinch the Championship from Mark Sandridge. Our congratulations go to John and the Mauro Motorsport team!

Congratulations are extended to our second and third place finishers with Pirelli award certificates.

Chris HTaking third in the closely contested Stuttgart GT Cup Championship was Chris Haehn from Columbus, Ohio racing his #454 Axis Roofing entry.


Mark SandridgeIn his #25 2015 GT3 Cup 3.8 liter “Team Salad” Porsche, series regular Mark Sandridge of Westfield Center, OH finished second in the Stuttgart GT Cup Championship with co-driver Joe Varde.
