2025 was a very competitive season for International GT and the Mission Foods GT3 Cup category saw some of the tightest battles all year. With a potential of 4 classes feeding into the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Championship (GT3.6, GT3.8,GT4.0,GT4.R) this category usually sees the greatest number of entries.
The hard fought championship was won by
G. MICHAEL MERRITT racing in a GT4.0 Porsche. Michael and his enduro co-driver EVAN SLATER
had a phenomenal season with an impressive list of finishes in the five (5) events that were counted toward the Championship, never finishing lower than second place in those 20 races (15 sprints, 5 enduros).
Michael came prepared for championship contention having to resort to his back-up car (an identical car to his primary) on a couple of occasions but he got the job done!
Congratulations to Michael and the CHARLES WICHT RACING crew for an outstanding race season and on being the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy Champion!!
Second in the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Championship is CLIFF CAYER, followed in third by teammate BILL OLIVER. Both come out of the MATRIX MOTORSPORTS camp. Bill shared the enduros this year with BRUNO CARNEIRO.
Matrix debuted with International GT at Sebring 2025 and have been an excellent addition to the IGT paddock! Congratulations Cliff, Bill and the entire Matrix Motorsports crew.
