BRASELTON, Georgia (September 4, 2015) – Officials from America’s GT Cup confirmed today 2016 plans to feature The Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA exclusively at race events in which the pair of Porsche-based racing series can be showcased in their own run group.

stuttgart cupThe 2016 Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup calendar of events is still being finalized, but each event will be similar in format to the weekend schedule the series will follow at the upcoming HSR (Historic Sportscar Racing) Atlanta Fall Historics at Road Atlanta, September 18 – 20.

The Road Atlanta race begins exactly two weeks from today with opening practice and qualifying. As the schedule model for 2016 and beyond, the three-day Fall Historics weekend will feature Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 competitors in their own practice, qualifying and three sprint-race sessions. Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 teams will also participate in Sunday’s B.R.M. Enduro Challenge, a one-hour event that will be the weekend’s points-paying Enduro race.

“Our Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 competitors have consistently asked for event weekends where they can regularly race in their own run groups,” said Ken Fengler, Competition Director and General Manager of America’s GT Cup, the operating organization of both racing series. “The Fall Historics offers a preview of this format and we are confident in being able to deliver a 2016 schedule of race events that will all showcase The Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 Cup in their own run group.”

Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 entries are still being accepted for the Atlanta Fall Historics. Entries received by this Labor Day Monday, September 7, will avoid late fees. The entry form can be downloaded by clicking here.
