Circuit of the Americas Hosts International GT 2023 Season Finale

Texas did not disappoint for the location of the IGT season finale. We welcomed several new competitors to IGT, the racing was close and fun and we crowned our 2023 Champions!

There was an eclectic group of competitors at Circuit of the Americas with two Lamborghinis and a BMW. XUANQIAN WANG #22 took the win in both races and was the overall winner in the enduro. BRUCE LEDOUX #76 shared his Lamborghini with VICTOR SPIVAK and the duo were second in the enduro. LARRY LUCK #116 raced a BMW M3 which had a slightly different pace than the Lambos but the team had fun racing around the iconic track finishing second in the sprint and third in the enduro.

NATHAN BYRD #88 lead the way in the sprint race finishing first overall and winning the GT3.8 category in a very close race with Marcos Vento and Scott Blind. Meanwhile MARCOS VENTO #18 won the enduro with NICHOLAS GROOMBRIDGE #56 SpeedSport was second and FEDERICO BRAGA #221coming in third in the enduro.

Newly crowned 2023 Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy Champion SCOTT BLIND #45 Ruckus Racing/Archangel Motorsports won both races with a carbon copy finish on the podium for the GT4.0 category. Second in the sprint and enduro was newcomer RAYMOND DAVOUDI #42 and completing the podium in both was ALBERT LUKAZIK #134 SpeedSport who shared the enduro with STEVEN McALEER.

Staying with the Mission Foods GT3 Cup competition, the GT4.R category sprint race was won by THOMAS GRUBER #991 with TADAS KARLINSKAS#313 in second, followed closely by MARK SANDRIDGE #58. The script was flipped for the enduro with Sandridge taking the win.

After bring a bridesmaid a couple times, long time International GT competitor COLIN COHEN #15 Norwood Auto Italia captured the Maranello Cup Championship for 2023 also winning Saturday’s sprint race.

There was full field in the Stuttgart Cup Cayman category with great racing throughout. TOM KOPCZYNSKI #52 RS1 winning both races, sharing the enduro with ERIC FILGUEIRAS. Another SpeedSport entry, ARIEL AUFGANG #13 was second in the enduro and third in the sprint. Also from the SpeedSport camp JOE RIZZO #12 took third in the enduro with co-driver SPENCER PUMPELLY. Of course Joe is the reigning Stuttgart Cup Champion taking the honor for 2022. However, Joe turned over the Champion’s crown to MARIA MEJIA #11 Quirt Racing who finished second the in sprint race, clinching the 2023 Stuttgart Cup Championship.
