International GT at the Racing Capital of the World
We had four sets of father/son drivers join us for Father’s Day at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We know the sons had already gotten their father’s great gifts, however thanks to our partners at PIRELLI, International GT was able to help out by handing the sons a gift of a set of racing tires to give to their dads. From the reaction, the dads were very, very pleased!!

The racing at Indy was fantastic! Up front it was a four way battle between DAVID TUATY #68, TLM USA, TOM PANK #42, Ultra Performance, STEPHEN HAMMAN #72, TLM USA and LUKAS PANK #40, Ultra Performance. In Race 1 although Tom Pank was first across the line, he suffered a penalty for contact with Stephen Hamman on lap one which resulted in a spin, giving the overall and GT4R win to David Tuaty. Lukas Pank finished third overall and first in the GT4.0 category. Third in 4R went to JAY SMITH #37, Autometrics. In the GT4.0 category finishing just after Lukas was MARK SANDRIDGE #58, Team Salad and third went to Stephen Hamman, recovering nicely after the early spin. Tom Pank took the overall and GT4R win in Race 2, followed by Stephen Hamman in second overall and winning the GT4.0 category. MARK HUPFER #85, 901 Shop was second to Hamman in GT4.0 and Mark Sandridge stood on the podium in third. Jay Smith was second to Pank in GT4R while both Lukas Pank and David Tuaty suffered mechanical issues and only completed a couple laps each. Sunday’s 60-minute enduro saw a tremendous battle between Tom Pank and David Tuaty with several lead changes but it was Pank who came out on top. Tuaty was second and Jay Smith third in the GT4R category. Mark Sandridge finished on top of the GT4.0 category, while PAUL MORTIMER in the #85 (901 Shop) he shared with Mark Hupfer all weekend took second and JAMES HAMMAN #176, TLM USA completed the podium in third.
Indy saw the return of long-time International GT competitor, JAVIER RIPOLL#191, CitiMarine Motors in the GT3.8 category after a stint racing in Europe at the beginning of the year. Javier’s comeback was triumphant with him sweeping the wins in all three races. Our Mission Foods GT3 Cup points championship leader TOMMY BALLESTER #188, Quirt Racing kept Javier close finishing second in all three races. Rounding out the podium was MARC JULIEN #87 finishing third in Race 2 and the enduro and JORDAN SANDRIDGE #49, Team Salad taking third in Sprint Race 1. In the GT3.6 category JIMMY McGLYNN #110, 901 Shop swept the category, racing the enduro with dad TOM McGLYNN.
International GT Stuttgart Cup points championship leader, DAVID HAMPTON #14, AR Motorsports, made it four IGT races in a row with another stellar performance at Indy in the CAY4.0 category. Among the Cayman 3.8 competitors the fight was really good with the top four finishing nose to tail in the sprint races. MIKE WARD #07 returned to IGT after shoulder surgery and took the wins in Sprint race 1 and 2. He was followed closely by MARK COOK #581, Autometrics in second in the Race 1. Mark would stand on all three podium steps finishing third in Race 2 and winning the enduro. While LARRY WEXLER #28 also from Autometrics Motorsports finished second in Race 2. JAVIER LEOS #20, Quirt Racing, joined International GT for the first time at both California races and returned at Indy. Javier finished second to Cook in the enduro and third in Race 1.
As we say goodbye to Indianapolis, the famous Pagoda and the 115 year old Yard of Bricks, our drivers can check one of the big ones off their bucket list. It was great racing, good fun and camaraderie for all. Onto Road America!
International GT heads to America's National Park of Speed
We’re happy to be launching into the second half of our season at the longest circuit on our schedule and one of the most prominent in the US. At just over 4 miles, Road America is one of our favorites with its tight corners and sweeping long straight-aways, we always look forward to returning to the midwest and the beautiful Elkhart Lake area.

The track is rented on Wednesday, June 26th therefore we cannot load-in until 6pm (unless you are in a garage – see schedule). The load-in on Wednesday is brief 6pm to 7pm.
