Season Finale at Circuit of the Americas October 30-November 3

Every driver should have the Circuit of the Americas on their bucket list! It’s not just the racing circuit, the entire facility is amazing. Let’s not forget the go-cart track at the front of the facility, the beautiful F1 garages and oh yeah, there’s one of the most notable music and art scenes in the country in Austin.

The preliminary schedule was released. Click on the photo of the famous COTA observation deck to link to the schedule and event registration.

There is a special opportunity to test both Wednesday and Thursday. There are two 30-minute sessions available on Wednesday. These sessions will run with other SVRA groups (there will be one group for open-wheel cars and another for closed-wheel cars). These are 30 minute sessions on Wednesday at 3:40pm and 4:40pm and will cost $250.

Thursday we will resume our regular testing schedule.

If you are interested in signing up for these additional Wednesday sessions or if you have any questions regarding the event or registration contact julie@internationalGT.net or call (770)380-7770.

Santa's Toy Run December 7-8

Most of you know Ron Rigdon, the truck driver for the SVRA transporter and all around jack-of-a-trades at track – plus one of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll ever meet!

Ron is a proud veteran and is involved in supporting the community in many ways.

Annually Ron and his family (including wife Michele who is the beautiful friendly face you see at SVRA registration) holds a “Santa’s Toy Run”. December 7-8, 2024 will be the 17th Annual edition of this wonderful event. The toys and gifts go directly to a variety of charities from Red Cross to domestic violence shelters.

The Toy Run is in conjunction with the NASA races at Road Atlanta and there are many ways to get involved: volunteer, attend the event (free if you bring a toy or gift card), car show, ride along hot laps and more fun!

IGT Champions Capture Titles in other Series

Our congratulations go out to three past International GT Champions and one of our favorite coaches and IGT series supporters, who have gone on to have outstanding seasons doing some racing in other areas. Click on the photo below to link to more about the teams and sponsors. In no particular order:

TED GIOVANIS 2020 Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy Champion and his TEAM TGM took the Bronze Cup Championship (Ted and co-driver HUGH PLUMB), Driver Championship MATT PLUMB and overall Team Championship in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge series. Matt Plumb and co-driver PAUL HOLTON knew going into the race this past weekend at Road Atlanta they needed to finish sixth or better to ensure a title and they outdid themselves with Holton qualifying on the pole and the duo finishing second overall.

In September SKI AUTOSPORTS the team owned by 2021 Maranello Cup Champions, KENT and MELISSA HUSSEY, captured the SRO GT America Championship by a single point in the season finale at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. In a successful season, the Hussey’s with driver JOHNNY O’CONNELL ran into some late season trouble suffering a flat tire in the penultimate event at Barber Motorsports Park opening an opportunity to others in the field. However O’Connell took a pair of second place finishes at Indy which was exactly what the sportscar racing legend needed to clinch the title.

Also in September, reigning International GT 2023 Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy Champion SCOTT BLIND captured the Porsche Sprint Challenge Masters Class Championship. Blind racing for RUCKUS RACING/ARCHANGEL MOTORSPORTS went into the season finale weekend at Sonoma Raceway in a tight battle with MARK BODEN, FALL LINE MOTORSPORTS, however Blind would prevail and be crowned the champion!

Not an International GT champion but a frequent and friendly face in the IGT paddock as a coach and co-driver, ERIC FILGUEIRAS captured the  2024 SRO GT4 America Silver Class Championship – a very impressive 3rd SRO Championship in a row!!!

Along with co-driver JOHN CAPESTRO-DUBETS, Eric had another championship winning season with support of our friend, International GT competitor TOM KOPCZYNSKI and his company Community Beer Works.
