Flash Back Friday Road America 2019

On What Should Have Been The 2020 Qualy Day

Road America exciting first lap with Mark Sandridge leading Rob Blake.

Today marks the day that should have been the 2020 Road America qualifying sessions for International GT. We know racing will restart soon (this weekend with NASCAR) but we are all missing one of our favorite stops in the IGT season! Let’s look back at what was an excellent event in 2019 at the renowned 4.048 mile Wicsconsin road course. Have a beer and brat and take a looks at the 2019 action.

Father and son team, Patrick and Kiel Hogan joined IGT for the first time in their McLaren. Turns out the duo was super fast!
RA is home track for IGT regulars, Fall Line Motorsports. Another father and son team, Mark and Joey Boden had a great time showing everyone around their turf.

The Ohio Players are everywhere! Many made the trip up to Road America last year. From left, Todd Sloan, Bob Wisen, Ed Baus, Brian Hicks and Cameron McIntyre. Missing from the photo but having a very successful race weekend was Mark Sandridge.

One of our favorites to see at any IGT race is Colin Cohen from Norwood Auto Italia in his red Ferrari. The crew made the long trip from Texas to be at Road America last year. He had competition from our 2019 Maranello Cup champion Beniot Bergeron and Illinois based Seb Coppola.

International GT provides a great opportunity for race shops to compete in a fun, competitive environment that focuses on sportsmanship and camaraderie and we’re thrilled to have some really great team’s supporting the series. Over the next few months we’d like to highlight some of those who are involved on a regular basis and make up what we think is the best paddock in motorsports!!We’re starting with Extreme Velocity Motorsports. Longtime sportscar crew chief and team manager, Derek Granison provides a facility (storage), race prep and track side support. He also provides coaching/training – click on the above video of one of his coaches, Lonnie Pechnik navigating the first lap at Sebring.
