Rainy Weather Doesn’t Dampen Spirits or Great Racing at Road Atlanta

BRASELTON, Georgia (April 25, 2015) – The Stuttgart Cup™ and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo racing series saw five different drivers score victories in two races Saturday in the Historic SportsCar Racing (HSR) 38th Anniversary Classic Motorsports Mitty presented by Hagerty.

An afternoon sprint and the featured twilight enduro were on Saturday’s schedule, and Stuttgart Cup and Mission Foods GT3 competitors didn’t let day-long wet conditions prevent great racing and close competition.

pirelliJuan Lopez-Santini scored Mission Foods GT3 Cup 3.8-liter 997-class victories in both races. The 901 Shop driver was the only GT3 Cup or Stuttgart Cup competitor to double up on wins today and he now has a chance to sweep The Mitty in Sunday’s weekend-ending enduro.

Other Mission Foods GT3 Cup winners include Wayne Wilkerson who shared the top step of the podium with Lopez-Santini in the sprint race. Wilkerson won in the 3.6-liter 996-class in his No. 901 Porsche prepared by Gilsdorf Racing.

Enduro honors in the 3.6-liter 996 class went to Jonathon Ziegelman and Allan Ziegelman in their No. 911 997 GT3 Cup Porsche.

Dominique LeQueux kept his 2015 event win streak going with a victory in the sprint race in his No. 30 MOMO-themed Cayman S prepared by Goldcrest Motorsports. LeQueux has now won a race in each of the four events run so far in 2015, including both sprint races in February’s season-opening Palm Beach Grand Prix.

Stuttgart Cup Boxster-class honors in the sprint went to John Reisman in the Hudson Historics-prepared No. 70 entry.

Other podium-earning drivers on Saturday included John Reisman’s father, Paul Reisman, and Peter Hoopis in the 3.6-liter class in the enduro. Hoopis races with the support of CPT Racing (Chicago Performance and Tuning) in his No. 32 Porsche 996 Cup. Reisman drove his No. 71 Porsche 997 Cup prepped by Hudson Historics.

mission-foods-gt3 Hoopis also finished second in GT3 3.6 in the sprint while Carmine Reppucci completed the podium in that race in the No. 161 GT3 Cup.

Joining Lopez-Santini on the enduro 3.8-liter podium were runner-up Rob Tollinger and Juan Gonzalez Jr. Tollinger competes in the No. 94 997 Cup car and Gonzalez Jr. races a similar No. 80 997.

LeQueux shared The Stuttgart Cup™ sprint-race podium with runner-up Keith Faver and third-place finisher Bill Riddell. Faver is returning to Stuttgart Cup competition for the first time since Savannah last year and jumped into the Racelink No. 139 Cayman S after his primary car had mechanical issues. Riddell races a flat-black and white-striped No. 05 Cayman S prepared by his own Racelink team and modeled after the prototype Porsche 918 race car.
