International GT Round 4 Action at Legendary Road America

Undaunted by the blustery weather conditions, Mark Sandridge dominated the race weekend taking the overall win for both of Saturday’s sprint races and being joined by long time co-driver Joe Varde to take the victory for Sunday’s one-hour enduro in his Team Salad Porsche 991 GT3. In the Stuttgart Cup Cayman category, wins were split by Griffen Kievet in sprint race #1 and Tom Kievet in race #2 for the Cayman 3.8 liter class. Bill Riddell joined the podium with first place Cayman 3.4 liter finishes in all three races. Both Porsche Cayman entries on the podium were supported by the Fernadina Beach Florida Racelink team.

For the Maranello Cup, Norwood Auto Italia out of Carrollton, Texas returned to International GT competition at Road America with Steve Hill controlling the Ferrari category finishing first in both sprint races . Co Driver Jason Hart aided in the Enduro victory on Sunday running some fast laps around the scenic track. Colin Cohen challenged Riddell for position throughout the weekend with first place in Sprint #1 and the Sunday enduro in his Ferrari 355.

Next up for International GT is the June 23-25 event at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. Entries for the Mid Ohio round are currently being accepted via the Series website www.Internationalgt.net

About International GT: International GT is a North American racing series that includes three different championships for late model Porsche and Ferrari competitors. Home primarily to sportsman drivers, with the occasional professional driver/coach joining the action in endurance races, International GT annually presents The Stuttgart Cup and The Maranello Cup championships. The Stuttgart Cup includes two classes, one for Caymans and another division that features 996, 997 and other GT3 Cup cars from the last decade. With rare exception, all three divisions compete on track at the same time for individual class honors in their own and exclusive International GT run group at SVRA race events. Most race weekends feature a minimum of one enduro and two sprint “points” races that count toward the season championships.
