Dominique LeQueux Triple Sweeps Stuttgart Cup 3.4-Liter Cayman-Class Races, Wins First 2015 Enduro

ELKHART LAKE, Wisconsin (May 18, 2015)Dominique LeQueux, Vern Chevalier and Jim Cullen all came home winners this past weekend at Road America where The Stuttgart Cup™ and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo was part of the SVRA Spring Vintage Festival, May 15 – 17.

stuttgart cup LeQueux had by far the best weekend of the winning trio with victories in all three 3.4-liter Cayman class Stuttgart Cup races in his MOMO-themed No. 30 Cayman S prepared by Goldcrest Motorsports.

The three-for-three clean sweep was the first for LeQueux in Stuttgart Cup competition. He also extended his 2015 streak of winning at least one race in each of the five event weekends run so far this season. All of those victories, including a pair of wins in the season-opening Palm Beach Grand Prix, came in sprint races, but LeQueux finally broke into the enduro win column in a big way at Road America. After taking class honors but overall second-place finishes in both the Friday and Saturday sprint races, LeQueux charged straight to the front in Sunday’s featured enduro. He won the 3.4-liter Cayman class and scored his first overall race victory of the season.

Chevalier, racing his 3.8-liter No. 24 Cayman S prepared by Bodymotion, was the overall race winner on Saturday. The victory capped a strong rebound from the back of the grid where Chevalier was forced to start after mechanical gremlins, first encountered in Friday’s opening race, also kept him on the sidelines in Saturday morning qualifying. Undeterred, Chevalier went to the lead and shared the podium with runner-up LeQueux and third-place finisher Rick Stavola.

stuttgart cup Stavola, racing his No. 22 Bodymotion Cayman S, was the top 3.4-liter Cayman qualifier on Friday and challenged LeQueux in all three weekend races. His best finish was second overall in the Sunday enduro after a pair of third-place showings in the sprints. Chevalier was fastest overall in Friday qualifying while LeQueux turned the top 3.4-liter Cayman S time in Saturday’s final qualifying session.

Cullen, making a solo run in the No. 25 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car he shares with Frank Beck, won overall and in Mission Foods GT3 competition on Friday. He was also the fastest overall competitor in Saturday qualifying.

Next up for The Stuttgart Cup™ and Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy USA by Car Amigo is the Mid-Ohio Vintage Grand Prix at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, June 25 – 28.
