Non-Points Qualifying Race Sets Stage for Daytona Double Header on Sunday

DAYTONA BEACH, Florida (November 16, 2013) – Picking up where they left off late last month in Savannah, Bill Riddell and Paul Reisman won again in Saturday’s opening sprint race of the weekend in The Stuttgart Cup™ Winter Series at the Historic SportsCar Racing (HSR) Daytona Historics at Daytona International Speedway.

stuttgart cup bill riddellRiddell swept both sprints and the enduro race in the season-opening Savannah event in his No. 05 Cayman S that sports a flat-black Porsche 918 Spyder paint scheme and went four for four today. He challenged Pro competitors Joe Varde and Jack Baldwin at the race start and then stayed clear of Stuttgart Cup Cayman regulars throughout the eight lap sprint.

Reisman had a race on his hands in the Boxster category where he swapped positions in the top three before moving up front for good on the race’s final lap.

A full weekend of competition at Daytona included today’s race as well as a second sprint Sunday morning before the weekend-closing Bob Snodgrass Memorial Enduro that is scheduled for two hours that afternoon.

Joey Sullivan finished second to Riddell in a No. 14 Cayman S that carries the colors of the famous Lowenbrau/Holbert Racing Porsche 962 while debuting Stuttgart Cup competitor Matt Dicken was third in his No. 207 Cayman S.

A sprint and endurance series, The Stuttgart Cup™ is open to all Porsche Caymans and Boxsters, with rules centered on power to weight ratio. All competing cars must compete with stock make and model engine and transmissions with approved allowances for exhaust and intake modifications. Series organizers also welcome all competitors with existing race-prepared Caymans or Boxsters to compete with body and engine modifications balanced within series power to weight ratio parameters. All such competitors will not be eligible for championship points or class-designated race wins, but the door is always open to all Cayman and Boxster competitors to get in on the action.
