Enduro Win with Baldwin Caps Great Weekend for Schneider; Reismans and Miller Take Boxster Honors; Sandridge and Varde Fourth in Four Hour

SEBRING, Florida (December 8, 2013) Bob Schneider finished a clean sweep of The Stuttgart Cup™ Winter Series weekend at the HSR Sebring Historic Races Sunday with a Pro-Am class victory in the event’s featured two-hour enduro.

stuttgart cupSchneider, driving his white No. 40 Cayman S with the Martini stripes of the famous “Baby” Porsche 935, moved to Pro-Am when Jack Baldwin joined as a co-driver. Schneider nearly matched the pace of his professional teammate.

“This was by far my best career weekend ever,” Schneider said. “To run with these guys and be on the podium three times, everybody was pushing hard, it was just a great weekend and I had a ton of fun. I can’t thank Bill Riddell and The Stuttgart Cup enough, and my coach and co-driver Jack Baldwin. It was an amazing weekend made possible by those guys.”

Schneider and Baldwin shared the enduro victory lane podium with Sportsman class winners Riddell and his debuting co-driver Brad McCall. The winning duo drove Riddell’s flat-black Porsche 918 inspired No. 05 Cayman S.

“This was my first real deal,” McCall said. “I have been doing some club racing this year, I just got started and got some good experience in SCCA, and Jack and Bill invited me to come join them this weekend. I had an absolute blast.”

Boxster class honors in the enduro went to the No. 70 of Marc Miller and the father-and-son duo of John and Paul Reisman.

Matt Dicken and John Lewis finished second in Pro-Am in the silver No. 207 Cayman S while Baldwin pulled double duty in helping Pirelli World Challenge teammate Buz McCall to a third place class finish. Baldwin and McCall, Brad McCall’s father, co-drove the green No. 80 Cayman S modeled after a David Piper Racing Porsche 917K.

stuttgart cup winnersRunner-up honors were earned by Joe Sullivan and debuting driver David Bland in the Sportsman class, and the duo of Alex Wolenski and Ari Strauss in Boxsters. Sullivan and Bland shared Darrell Fancher’s yellow No. 139 Cayman S modeled after the “Psychedelic” Porsche 917K while Wolenski and Strauss co-drove the black No. 157 Monticello Motor Club/DeMan Motorsport Boxster.

The top overall finishing Cayman in the Enduro was the 3.8-liter No. 49 Grandma’s Potato Salad Porsche of Mark Sandridge and Joe Varde. While the Stuttgart Cup checkered after the opening two hours of the scheduled four-hour race on Sunday, Sandridge and Varde went the full distance and finished an impressive fourth overall in the 45-car field. Dicken and Lewis also went the full four-hour distance and finished a strong 10th overall, just one spot ahead of Miller and Reismans who beat out dozens of more powerful race cars with their Boxster.

Other winners on Sunday included Henry Davis who won Sunday morning’s opening sprint race in his white No. 21 Cayman S. The victory made up for Saturday’s disappointment when he ran out of fuel in a one-hour non-points race less than two laps from the finish.

It was Schneider who shined all weekend, however, as he also won Saturday’s points sprint race and the one-hour non-points race. On Friday he finished first in a 90-minute nighttime Enduro.

All competing cars must compete with stock make and model engine and transmissions with approved allowances for exhaust and intake modifications.
