Watkins Glen Registration Open
As we all enjoy the summer break remember that September will soon be upon us and with it, the return to International GT racing. Registration is open for the Watkins Glen event, September 6-9, 2023. The overall win for sprint race 1 went to STEPHEN HAMMAN #72 TLM USA in the GT 4.I category. He DAVID TUATY #68 TLM USA and TODD SLOAN #25 TLM USA put on the best racing all weekend, going nose-to-tail in heated battles for three races, with the much younger Hamman besting the veterans Tuaty and Sloan. Second went to Tuaty for both sprint races, while Sloan took second in the enduro. Obviously TLM USA is turning out some very fast Porsches.

Championship Points Race Heats Up
As always the Mission Foods GT3 Cup Trophy points championship will be a battle to the end (this year that will be COTA)! Holding down a commanding lead is SCOTT BLIND #45 Ruckus Racing/ Archangel Motorsports. However Scott is the only entrant who has marked the 5 race mandatory event entry. Watkins Glen will mark race #5 for many others and will determine where things really shake out in the championship. Will 2023 require a perfect season to win the championship?? Time will tell but all indications are that we are headed to a tie-breaker in the category. As a reminder tie-breaker rules:
1. Most class wins
2. Best average finishing position of all races entered
3. Most events entered
In addition there is a close championship battle in Stuttgart Cup and also several are up for Rookie of the Year?
The second half of the season starts at Watkins Glen and we will watch anxiously as the championships shake out.
